Former Director General of the Ghana Health Service and a Presidential Advisor on Health Dr Anthony Nsiah-Asare has disclosed that about 1500 COVID-19 patients on the waiting list will be declared virus-free soon.
It will be recalled that the former aide to the former President John Mahama, Madam Joyce Bawa Mongtari wondered how 760 COVID-19 patients recovered overnight. She stated that the numbers should be put to a strict proof to ascertain the veracity or otherwise.
“How the hell did 790 more people recover overnight!!…We need to put these numbers to strict proof!!” She tweeted.
However, the Ghanaian medical officer says Ghanaians should expect a massive report on the recoveries soon. He stated that the recoveries are real and not just an event. He disclosed in an interview on TV3 News that if the two tests carried out comes out negative, then 1500 persons will be discharge to go home.
“If you are isolated for two weeks and you pass your two negative tests we discharge you to go home and pronounce you as recovered. If you remember, people were complaining about our rate being very low but now we thank God that our recovery rate has gone up over 1,000. We still have about 1,500 more patients who are awaiting their second tests so we can declare them as recovered. I have the confidence that over 1,000 people will recover soon,” he said.
