PENTECOST CHURCH -Asokwa Area Extends Helping Hand To The Needy

The Asokwa Area of The Church of Pentecost has donated assorted essential food products worth GHS 20,000.00 to needy members in the Area to help them cope with the challenges that have come about following the imposition of restrictions on movement in the Greater Kumasi Metropolis due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The items include 50 bags of rice, 10 bags of gari, 20 boxes of sunflower cooking oil, 20 boxes of mackerel, 15 boxes of tin tomatoes, and 550 bags of sachet water.

Making the donation, the Area Head, Prophet James Osei Amaniampong, who doubles as an Executive Council Member of the church, said all the 23 districts within the Area have in diverse ways responded to the needs of the members in this trying period.

“The Asokwa Area is thus augmenting this gesture by providing these items to our members,” he said.

He added that the donation will go a long way to help most deprived families especially in this period of lockdown. “We believe that this is just the right time for the church to demonstrate her love to members who are really in need,” he stressed.

Prophet Amaniampong encouraged all well-to-do individuals in the church to emulate the gesture since giving is a godly act which attracts many blessings.

The beneficiaries, who were full of joy, showed their appreciation to the church for the timely intervention.

The donation is the third of its kind to be given by the church in Kumasi since the outbreak of the novel COVID-19 plague. The church has so far donated to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and the Emmanuel Medical Centre, both within the Kumasi Metropolis in support of the fight against the spread of the deadly disease.

Present at the presentation ceremony were some pastors and executive committee members of the Area, the wife of the Area Head, Mrs. Georgina Birago Amaniampong, among others.
